AI Companion: Cloud Processing
Our AI companion (Gentle Companion) uses cloud-based AI services. When you chat, your messages and relevant context may be transmitted over encrypted connections (for example, TLS) to our servers and/or third-party AI providers we engage to generate responses. We design flows to minimize what is sent, avoid unnecessary retention where we can, and not use your conversations for advertising. Details below describe what we collect and how it is used.
Information We Collect
We may collect or process the following types of information:
- AI chat and companion use: Text you send to Gentle Companion, session identifiers, and limited technical metadata needed to operate the feature (for example, timestamps, error logs). This data may be processed on our infrastructure and by subprocessors that provide AI inference.
- Wellness data you create in the app: Mood check-ins, symptom logs (fatigue, pain, sleep, appetite), questions for your doctor, treatment countdown, and notes to family. Much of this may remain on your device; some items may sync or be backed up depending on app settings and platform behavior.
- Device information: Mobile device ID, operating system, and app usage statistics for improving the app experience.
- Hope Library refresh (optional): If you use "Refresh to get new stories," the app may send search queries to a search API (e.g., Serper) to fetch recovery stories. This is optional and configurable.
- Family connection: If you choose to notify family or send messages, that data is transmitted only to the contact you specify.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide emotional support and companionship through cloud-based AI (Gentle Companion).
- Display mood and symptom trends to help you prepare for doctor visits.
- Deliver Night Sanctuary features (soundscapes, breathing exercises, sleep stories).
- Enable Zen Toys, Hope Library, and Quick SOS when you need them.
- Improve the app and fix technical issues.
Crisis Handling
When the app detects crisis-related language, it prioritizes preset supportive responses and is designed to limit reliance on generative AI in those moments. We encourage reaching out to professional support. XinBridge is not a replacement for medical or mental health care.
Disclosure of Your Information
We may disclose personal information only:
- To comply with applicable law, court order, or legal process.
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of our company, users, or others.
- When you explicitly choose to share with family or caregivers.
Data Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never defeat our security measures.
Your Rights

Data stored only on your device can often be cleared by uninstalling the app or clearing app data, subject to your device and platform.
